Description

This is a quick and easy card game that helps with counseling students who have poor emotional regulation. This game focuses on helping students understand that their emotional responses to a variety of situations that are challenging and are either a “Big Deal” or “Little Deal.” There are many more little deal scenarios, as this will help kids realize that most situations are a “Little Deal”.

For 2-4 Players

Directions:

Shuffle all Situation and Big Deal vs. Little Deal Cards and place the Situation Cards face down in the middle of the table.

Then deal out all of the Big Deal vs. Little Deal Cards face down in front of all players.

For each round, flip one situation card and read it to the students. The students will then flip over the card on the top of the pile and read it (or the counselor can read it) aloud and decide if their solution card is for a BIG Deal or Little deal situation.

If the Situation card indicates an “B” for a Big Deal, the students with a Big Deal card earn a point. If the card indicated an “L” for Little Deal, then the students with a Little Deal card earn a point. Use the score card if you want to keep score each round.
